Challenge

The Fryderyk Chopin Institute approached us to develop an application that would serve as an interactive tool supporting one of the most significant musical events in the world. The app needed to provide a seamless digital experience that engaged both competition participants and the audience. A key requirement was to create a comprehensive compendium of knowledge, offering access to information about both the current and previous editions of the competition. Additionally, the app had to support high-quality 4K streaming, ensuring users could follow every stage of the event in real time. Another challenge was presenting detailed competitor profiles, including photos, audio, and video content, allowing audiences to connect with the performers on a deeper level. Keeping users informed was also a priority, requiring real-time news updates from the organizers to be integrated into the app.

Solution

To meet these requirements, we developed an app that delivers live coverage of the competition, allowing users to experience the event in stunning 4K quality from anywhere in the world. The application provides uninterrupted live streaming of all stages, ensuring fans never miss a performance. To enhance engagement, we integrated multimedia recaps, giving users daily summaries of key moments, while real-time notifications keep them up to date with important announcements. The app also includes a detailed database of participants, featuring competitor profiles with photos, videos, and audio recordings to offer a more immersive experience. Furthermore, it provides in-depth information on each composition played during the competition, allowing users to explore the musical pieces in greater detail.

Results

Thinking about the lovers of Fryderyk Chopin’s music and the Competition, we have developed the multimedia applications: mobile app for IOS and Android. We were happy to support the Fryderyk Chopin’s Institute in product design, project management, and software development. The application is a great, interactive compendium of knowledge on the current and previous editions of the Competition. It allows users to watch all stages of the Competition, provides live streaming during the contest, includes competitors’ profiles, news from the organizers, and other information helpful to bring Chopin and his compositions closer to contemporary hearts. Apart from this, we were supporting the SmartTV app for Samsung TV as well as the event’s website.

The NextApps team has designed and developed the mobile app for the Chopin Competition. They have supported us in building the dedicated website and service. During creating the general design, the NextApps team has helped us in preparing all of the requirements. Together with setting the priorities. Therefore our cooperation has gone smoothly.
